January 2007: Albuquerque is given the World Leadership Award for water conservation from the World Leadership Conference.

January 2007: Albuquerque is named one of the 100 best communities for young people by America's Promise Alliance for Youth.

January 2007: Albuquerque is named a top 10 city for movie making by MovieMaker Magazine, beating out Los Angeles, Miami,and Las Vegas, Nev.

December 2006: Albuquerque International Sunport is named "airport of the year" by the Tranportation Security Administration for the agency's 10 state western region.

October 2006: Albuquerque is voted 4th in Small Tech industry by Small Times Magazine

October 2006: Albuquerque is ranked among the best cities for relocating singles, and 8th best for family relocating according to Worldwide ERC and Primary relocation. Ranking is based on commuting,taxes,housing and living costs,support for multigenerational families and climate.

July 2006: Albuquerque is named one of the next Five Future Hotspots by Orbitz Travel, which cited the area's world class resorts, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, and the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center.

July 2006: The University of New Mexico Hospital Cancer Reasearch and Treatment Center is voted the 46th best cancer hospital by the U.S. News & World Report magazine.

July 2006: Albuquerque is named the 3rd best city for Hispanics by Hispanic Magazine, which cited the city's sunny climate,sporty culture,low unemployment and excellent cost of living.

June 2006: Albuquerque is named 2nd place among the top 25 art cities according to American Style Magazine, which listed the city's many art galleries, monthly ArtsCrawls and diversity of art styles.

May 2006: Albuquerque is voted the best place for business and careers by Forbes Magazine, which cited the city's low business cost, educated population and rising household income.

January 2006: Albuquerque is named one of the year's top 6 travel destinations by USA Today, which cited the city's affordability and array of cultural resources.

January 2006: Albuquerque is voted the 3rd best place to bike in the United States by Bicycling Magazine.
